On March 11, 2011 as the first stage of dismantling the Cal Edison Power Plant in Laughlin, Nevada, the 500 foot tall smokestack was taken down with explosives. The plant went on line in 1971, and the tall stack was a familiar part of the local landscape for 40 years.
